Challenge
Rivian’s Adventure Products group needed to explore products that were deeply connected to the vehicle experience, not just accessories added after the fact. Early integration was critical: if the right opportunities were not identified and pitched early enough, future vehicles would move forward without the hooks, interfaces, and architecture needed to support them.

Approach
I built and led a small concept engineering team focused on developing a balanced portfolio of near-term commercial opportunities and longer-term adventure product concepts. We worked closely with vehicle design and engineering teams during early exploration, turning opportunity areas into tangible concepts, prototypes, and roadmap-ready product directions.

The team did not stop at concept generation. We also led and supported commercialization efforts, helping ensure the products integrated cleanly with the vehicle, met a high quality bar, reached customers through the right channels, and contributed to the broader personality of the Rivian adventure experience.

Outcome
The work helped shape Rivian’s adventure product roadmap and influenced future vehicle integration strategies. Several product directions developed through the team were later showcased during the R2 and R3 launch, and the portfolio continued beyond my time at Rivian. While some specific products remain unreleased, the work validated the value of early concept engineering, integrated product strategy, and the team I built to carry it forward.
